Terms and conditions
Restaurant Bisque, October 2026
These terms set out what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you, when you book with us, dine with us or buy a gift voucher.
1. Who we are
Restaurant Bisque v.o.f.Verlengde Hereweg 46, 9722 AE Groningen
Chamber of Commerce no. 01070056
info@restaurantbisque.nl · +31 50 280 2058
These terms apply to all bookings, dinners, private dining and gift vouchers of Restaurant Bisque. The customer’s own terms and conditions do not apply. In these terms, a group means a party of seven people or more.
2. Booking
Up to and including six people, you book online. From seven people, you call or email us. Your booking is fixed as soon as you have received a confirmation from us.
We welcome guests between 18:00 and 19:00 and close at 23:30. If you will be later, call us; we will hold your table. If you are more than 30 minutes late without our having heard from you, we may give the table to other guests. That then counts as not turning up.
We may refuse a booking, but never on the grounds of who you are.
3. Confirming and cancelling
Two days before your visit we ask you to confirm your booking. Until that moment you can cancel free of charge. If you cancel after that, or do not turn up, we charge 50,- per person. This also applies to bookings made within two days of the evening, and to each person whose place you cancel after that moment.
4. Groups and private dining
For groups and private dining, you can cancel, or change the number of people, free of charge up to one week in advance. After that we charge 75,- per person.
5. Deposit
For Christmas and public holidays, and for groups, we ask for a deposit of 75,- per person. You will receive a payment request for this. The booking is final once the deposit has been received. We deduct the deposit from the bill on the evening itself.
If you cancel at a time when charges apply, but we still manage to fill your table, we will refund your deposit.
6. If we have to cancel
We are a small restaurant. If we fall ill, or cannot open because of another cause beyond our control, we may cancel your booking. We will let you know as soon as possible, and refund any deposit in full. We do not pay any further compensation in that case.
8. Your own wine
If you would like to bring your own bottle, for example for a good reason or because it is a special bottle, this is possible by arrangement. We charge corkage for this. We agree the amount with you in advance.
9. Prices and payment
All prices are in euros and include VAT. You pay on the evening itself, by debit card, credit card or in cash.
Business guests can receive an invoice on request. We send it afterwards, and you pay it within 14 days. If you do not pay on time, we charge the statutory interest and the collection costs permitted by law.
10. Gift vouchers
A gift voucher is valid for one year from the date of issue. You can use it on our dinner evenings, from Tuesday to Saturday. It is not valid on public holidays, during the Sunday lunches or on other special evenings, such as a winemaker’s dinner.
You use a gift voucher in one go. If you spend less than the value of the voucher, the remainder lapses. A gift voucher cannot be exchanged for cash.
If your gift voucher has expired, you may, by way of exception and by arrangement, still use it on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday up to one month after it expired.
We charge postage for sending a voucher by post. We are not liable if a gift voucher is lost or stolen.
11. House rules
We want everyone to have a pleasant evening. If a guest causes a nuisance, or does not follow the instructions given by us or our staff, we may ask them to leave. Anything already ordered or booked then remains payable.
Your dog is welcome, as long as it does not cause a nuisance to other guests or to our staff.
12. Cloakroom, belongings and lost property
You can hang your coat in our small cloakroom. This, and bringing any other belongings, is at your own risk. We are not liable for loss, theft or damage, unless it was caused through our fault.
If you leave something behind with us, we will keep it for a reasonable time. If you would like it sent to you, this is at your expense and risk.
13. Liability
We are only liable for direct loss that results from a fault on our part. This liability is limited to the amount our insurance pays out in that case. If the insurance does not pay out, it is limited to the value of your booking. We are not liable for indirect loss. These limitations do not apply in the event of intent or gross negligence on our part.
If a guest, or their dog, causes damage to the restaurant or to the property of others, the guest is liable for it.
14. Force majeure
If circumstances beyond our control prevent us from keeping our agreements, for example illness, a breakdown or a government measure, we are not liable for the consequences. In that case we will refund any deposit.
15. Complaints
If something is not to your satisfaction, tell us on the evening itself, so that we can resolve it. If that does not work, email us within one week at info@restaurantbisque.nl. We will then contact you.
16. Privacy
You can read how we handle your data in our privacy statement.
17. Applicable law
Dutch law applies to these terms. You submit disputes to the court in Groningen. If you are a consumer, you may also go to the court in your own place of residence.
If a provision in these terms proves to be invalid, the other provisions continue to apply.
These terms and conditions are also published in Dutch and German. If the versions differ, the Dutch text prevails.
