Privacy statement

For reservations, private dining requests and the waiting list we use Zenchef. In doing so we process your name, email address, phone number, the date, the number of people and anything else you tell us. This is necessary to carry out your reservation. Zenchef keeps this data according to its own retention periods.

If you let us know about an allergy or dietary requirement, we record it with your reservation in Zenchef, so that the kitchen can take it into account. This is data about your health. We use it only for your visit, and only because you give it to us yourself.

You only receive our newsletter if you choose to yourself, when you make a reservation or at your request. You can unsubscribe at any time, via the link at the bottom of every newsletter.

After your visit we may ask you, via Zenchef, for a review. If you would rather we did not, please let us know.

Through the contact form we receive your name, email address, your phone number if you give it, and your message. We use these only to reply to you. We keep messages from the form for 12 months. They are stored with Google Firebase, in a data centre in the Netherlands, and forwarded to our mailbox with our hosting provider.

If you send us a message via WhatsApp, it goes through Meta’s WhatsApp. We do not keep messages any longer than necessary to help you.

If you have a gift voucher sent by post, we use your name and address to send it. Business guests receive an invoice on request. Data that ends up in our financial records is kept for 7 years, because the law requires it.

There are cameras in and around the restaurant, for the safety of guests, staff and the premises. We keep footage for a maximum of 4 weeks. We only view it in the event of an incident, and then keep it for as long as necessary to deal with that incident. Where necessary, we pass it on to the police.

Our website places no cookies and uses no advertising or tracking services. We count visits with our own simple counter, without cookies and without us being able to recognise you. If you choose a language yourself, your browser remembers that choice. That choice stays on your device and does not reach us.

The map on the contact page is provided by Mapbox. It starts as soon as half of it is in view and you pause for a moment. If you have turned on data saving in your browser, it only starts when you click a place in the list beside the map. Mapbox then receives data about the use of the map, including your IP address.

Links to Zenchef, Google Maps, Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp take you to those services. Their own privacy statements apply there.

Your data can be viewed by Niels and Sabrina and, where necessary, by our web developer. We also work with Zenchef, Google Firebase, our hosting provider, Mapbox and WhatsApp. We never sell your data.

Some of these parties also process data outside the European Union. Where that happens, the arrangements required by European law apply.

You may view your data, have it corrected or have it deleted. You can object to its use, and withdraw any consent you have given. Email us at info@restaurantbisque.nl; we will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (the Dutch Data Protection Authority).

This privacy statement is also published in Dutch and German. If the versions differ, the Dutch text prevails.
